Aldrich Arena in Maplewood is run by Ramsey County Parks and is a multi-purpose arena. It offers seating for over 3,400 and hosts high school hockey leagues and play-off games. The arena is also used for community events, including farmers markets, concerts and craft shows. In 2019, the facilities were updated, including renovated family restrooms. Open skate is offered seasonally and is FREE to the public – making it an affordable family outing (assuming you own skates). this arena does not offer skate rental or sharpening, so families need to plan ahead and bring their own skates. Families can traditionally book two types of birthday party packages at the arena – open skate parties or private facility rental parties. Parties during public open skating times offer use of a private room where food and beverages are allowed for the birthday group to have cake and open presents. These packages are offered at a group price for parties of 20 guests or more. Private rentals are also available where families can rent the ice by the hour for exclusive skate time. Cake and refreshments are not allowed on the ice, but the rental would include the use of a room.Open skate at Aldrich Arena
