AKA Sport (or Active Kids Association of Sport) is a community sports program in Blaine that offers offers summer camps, school programs, and community events for kids and families. The program offers a variety of sports where kids can spend time "making friends, learning healthy lifestyle skills, and attending fun and educational events".
AKA Sport Mission Statement
The program's mission is to encourage kids of all abilities to live an active lifestyle by providing sports and fitness programs for youth, families, schools and communities.
AKA sometimes offers community events that can be found on their website, here. Past events have included community cleanups, coat drives, and Arbor Day sales.
During the pandemic, AKA launched a program called AKA School Time to support kids during virtual and hybrid learning. Beginning fall 2021, AKA will launch a Before School Program called AKA SPARK that will focus on getting kids active before school so they can better focus in the classroom. This program will operate out of the National Sports Center in Blaine and bus kids to certain schools in nearby districts.
All Sports Summer Camp
Summer Camp is offered every week in the summer with a new sport theme and field trip each week. Kids can choose individual weeks or sign up for the whole summer. Camps are offered in Blaine, Circle Pines, Hopkins and Ramsey for kids in kindergarten through 9th grade. Updated dates and prices are listed in our summer camp guide.
Within the All Sports Camp program is a program for middle school kids called Speed of Play, open to kids entering Grades 7-9. AKA recognizes that this age group is often overlooked
