 6/11: Brickmania Toyworks Open House, 1620 Central Ave NE, Suite 170, Minneapolis • 10am-4pm • $5/pp or $10/group of 4 • Details: Intricate LEGO train layouts, hands-on LEGO activities and displays. This popular event is held the 2nd Saturday of each month. Read about a trip to the open house here.

6/11: Family Dance @ Tapestry Folkdance Center, 3748 Minnehaha Ave, Minneapolis • 6:30-8pm • $5/pp or $10/family • Details: The focus is on teaching simple dances that everyone in the family can enjoy. Breaks will feature snacks and kid-friendly activities.

6/14: Artist-Led Explorations @ Caponi Art Park, Eagan • 10am-noon • $5/family. Details: Cultural performances designed for families to attend together.

6/15: Daily Life on the Farm @ Eidem Homestead, Brooklyn Park • 12-4pm • $5/pp at the door, 5 & under FREE • Details: Help out with farm chores, visit the animals and explore the restored farmhouse. Also held 6/29.

6/17: Kids at the Castle @ American Swedish Institute, Minneapolis • 11am-noon (feel free to stay after and explore the castle) • $5/family • Details: Before the museum opens, join ASI for visual play, storytelling, music, and movement inspired by ASI’s exhibits that will encourage creative young minds. Suggested for ages 2-5.

6/17: Friends & Family Fun Day @ Dakota City Heritage Village, 4008 2200 St W, Farmington • Tours on the half hour begin at 10am through noon • $5/pp • Details: Turn-of-the-century fun with guided tours, vintage games and other interactive activities.

6/17: Family Fun & Fitness Fridays (Highland Pool, Como Pool, Great River Water Park), St. Paul • $2/pp during Open Swim hours.


Michaels Kids Club Crafts @ Twin Cities Michaels locations • Ongoing Saturdays in June, 10am-noon • $2 per project, ages 3+. Check the link for details.

tm gale woods farm 3Saturday Mornings on the Farm @ Gale Woods Farm, Minnetrista • Ongoing Saturdays in June, 9:30am-noon • $5/pp • Details: Calling all farmhands! Help out with chores, spend time with the animals and participate in other spring farm activities. Closed-toe shoes required.

FANtastic Saturdays @ The Blast Indoor Playground, Eagan Community Center • 5-8pm • $4/pp ages 18 mon-12 years, all others free. Details: Better bang for your buck every Saturday evening: $4 will get you into the Blast Indoor Playground, the gym for games, and provide a movie and crafts (parents must stay to supervise their kids).

$4 Sundays @ Great River Water Park, St. Paul • 11am-5pm • $4/pp • Details: Read about the kid-friendly amenities at Great River Water Park here.

Raptor Center Tours @ Gabbert Raptor Center, St. Paul campus of the U of M • 30-minute tours every half hour, 10:30am-3:30pm, ongoing Tues-Fri • $3/ages 3-17, $5/adults • Details: Bring kids of any age for a fun and educational visit. Meet some resident raptors, get hands-on with natural materials, and visit the kids’ play corner.

Bowl for a Buck @ University of MN’s Coffman Union (Thurs, 5pm-close) & St. Paul Student Center (all day Wed) • $1 per game plus $2 shoe rental.


6/9: My Preschooler & Me – Puppet Escapades: Small, Small Pond @ Richardson Nature Center, Bloomington • 10-11am • $4/pp (adult & child both pay) • Details: Themed activity stations & puppet show.

6/10: Puppet Storytime: Buggin’ Out @ Westwood Hills Nature Center • 10-11am • $4/resident, $5/non-res • Details: The Westwood puppets tell a buggy tale in their animated and comical style, then naturalist led activities will follow to highlight the story.

6/13: My Preschooler & Me – Lowry Little Ones Summer: Reptile Roundup @ Lowry Nature Center, Victoria • 10-11:30am • $5/pp.

6/17: Preschool Storytime: Frogs & Toads @ Carpenter St. Croix Valley Nature Center, Hastings • 10-11am • $5/child, adults free • Details: Activities include a nature story, a craft project, exploring the outdoors, and observing live animals. Call 651-437-4359 to pre-register.

6/18: Fairy Summertime @ Eastman Nature Center, Maple Grove • 10-11:30am • $5/pp • Details: Create your own fairy house and other spritely activities.

6/18: My Preschooler & Me Natural Wonders – Summer: Pond Study @ Cedar Lake Farm Regional Park, New Prague • 10-11:30am • $5/pp • Details: Explore the natural through a story, craft and outdoor activity time.

6/22: My Preschooler & Me Bookworms Story Hour: Froggy Fun @ Eastman Nature Center, Maple Grove • 10-11am • $4/pp ages 2-6, child and adult pay • Details: Nature learning stations, hands-on activities and more.

6/27: My Preschooler & Me: Puppet Escapades – Salamander Food @ Lowry Nature Center, Victoria • 10-11am • $4/pp.

6/28: Home Tweet Home @ Maplewood Nature Center, Maplewood • 10-11:30am • $5/child pre-paid • Details: Kids ages 4-8 with caregivers can learn about birds through crafts, hands-on activities and outdoor play.

Eagan Community Center: Preschool Open Play
1501 Central Pkwy, EaganOngoing Mon-Fri, 9-11:30am • $4 per child, under 18 mons free • Details: A variety of fun toys and sport equipment are available to play in the gym as well as play time in the Blast Indoor playground.  For kids ages 1-5.
