Franconia Sculpture Park, Taylor’s Falls

Located about an hour’s drive from the Twin Cities, the funky Franconia Sculpture Park park has often been a stop for our family en route to Taylors Falls and the beautiful St. Croix River Valley.

While climbing on sculptures is generally not allowed, “Playstation” by Bridget Beck is an exception.

What can you do at Franconia Sculpture Park?

Make sure not to miss exploring the dozens of intriguing sculptures that dot the 20-acre space, each crafted by a current or previous resident artist of the Franconia community. These inspired sculptures are truly the heart of the park. Plus, it’s art you can touch! And in some cases, run through, climb over, and swing on! In short, it’s art that’s extra kid-pleasing.

It’s possible, and always free, to tour at your leisure. Spend as little or as long as you’d like interacting with the art. For those who’d like a little more formal introduction, artists and staff lead free guided tours each Sunday at 2pm from May-October. There are also options to go more in depth for a small fee per person. Please note that the exhibits are continually changing as artists complete their residencies.
