Purgatory Creek Park offers families the opportunity to bike or hike a paved loop trail that is 2.4 miles long and meanders through gardens and wetlands. Geocaching is allowed within 25 feet of this trail. The park also offers space to picnic; and restrooms are available for visitor use.

Off-street parking is available.

Public Art at Purgatory Creek Park

While visiting, families may want to seek out the beautiful Veterans Memorial and enjoy the large fountain, both of which are permanent fixtures of the park. Purgatory Creek has also participated in Eden Prairie’s rotating art program, intended to foster an appreciation of public art and add to the beauty of the space with temporary sculpture installations. Find the latest exhibits here.

Arts in the Park

Each May this park hosts a daylong art fair. It features artwork by local and regional artists. Families will also find entertainment, activities for kids, and food vendors.

Birthday Parties in the Pavilion

The pavilion is available to rent by Eden Prairie Residents from April through October. It holds up to 75 people. The pavilion’s amenities include 10 large picnic tables, electricity, restrooms. Parking is limited. It looks over a fountain and is surrounded by gardens and wetlands. Half days cost $150 and full days cost $210 plus a damage deposit required.
