Can it already be the end of July?  This summer has flown by, but you still have lots of time to enjoy the ice cream goodness around the Twin Cities.

This is a  list of Ice Cream Shoppes I have not personally reviewed for the purpose of publication.  A handful of them, I have experienced long time ago.  I will tell you what I know, and if you have been to any of these shoppes, please leave a comment here or on facebook.  For someone who bleeds ice cream, I want to know everything I can.

In Minneapolis
Edina Creamery
5055 France Ave.
Serves:  Homemade Ice Cream
We had this years ago on an anniversary that was way before children–maybe like 12 years ago?  What I remember is that it was a cute shop!

Crema Cafe
3403 Lyndale Ave. S.
Serves:  Sonny’s Ice Cream

Cafe Kem
2524 Nicollet Ave S.  #101
Serves: Frozen Yogurt (of unknown origin–maybe in store?)

Franklin Freeze
2328 E.  Franklin Ave.
Serves:  Soft serve
This is a hot dog joint and a vegetarian joint (I didn’t know the two could mix) as well as an ice cream stop!

East Metro
Selma’s Ice Cream Parlour
3419 St. Croix Trail S.
The oldest Ice cream shop in Minnesota serves Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream from Madison, Wisconsin (same as Lynden’s Soda Fountain and Two Scoops).

Nelson’s Ice Cream
920 Olive St. W
Serves:  Cedarcrest Ice Cream
We had ice cream here probably 10 years ago.  All I want to suggest to you is that get the kiddysize.  It is bigger than your average single scoop!

Schoony’s Soda Shop and Pizzeria
384 Bench
Taylors Falls
Serves: Cedarcrest Ice Cream
So I forgot we had ice cream here just this summer.  It’s Cedarcrest so it’s really good ice cream.  I think they have over 50 flavors for you to choose from.  It has a fun atmosphere even though it’s a little dark inside the shop.

Northeast Metro

Ozzie’s Great American Ice Cream
4687 Bald Eagle Ave.
White Bear Lake
Serves:  Cedarcrest Ice Cream
I think people who used to go to my church own this shop.

The Village Scoop
115 Village Center Dr.
North Oaks
Serves:  Unknown
There is really no excuse for me to not go here.  It’s right next to my kid’s dentist.  Oh, wait.  Maybe that’s my excuse.

North Metro

Big Dipper Creamery
1250 126th Ave NE
Serves: Homemade Ice Cream
This shop is not open during the winter.

Central Metro

Patti’s Ice Cream & Sweet Shop
2465 Fairview Ave. N.
Serves: Cedarcrest Ice Cream
It’s in the same building as Dunn Brothers so if you are in the mood for coffee or in the mood for ice cream, it’s a one stop shop!

Have you indulged in any of these places?  Please share your opinions.  We would love to know what you think about these treasures around town!
