My favorite Winter Carnival event this year is easily the Saint Paul Civic Symphony’s “Mozart ‘Requiem’ Community Sing-Along”. What’s not to love about singing along to a death march in Latin! This free concert is being held at the Landmark Center. So, it’s time to learn some lyrics and practice singing along. I found the lyrics with English translation HERE, and you can watch the video below for music to practice along!
Besides the Requiem sing-along, the SPCS will be performing Stravinsky’s Greeting Prelude (or as I like to call it, “Happy Birthday”)
and Tchaikovsky’s Theme & Variations (from Suite No. 3).
I have always found it harder to appreciate concerts when I don’t know the music, so if I expect my children to sit through something for adults, I start playing the music for at least weeks before we go. Now is the perfect time to start that.
