pumpkin train photo: Pumpkin Train Jar Set3 86d351415b64b00731e873e1e97c2190.jpgI have some train lovers in my family (I think I’ve mentioned this) and for them, the Pumpkin Express Train would be the perfect Halloween Event.  Just choose a day from Friday, October 18 through Sunday, October 20 (MEA Weekend).  Starting in Osceola, Wisconsin, the train ends up in Dresser, Wisconsin.  You can make it an all day event or go for a couple of hours.  If I know my family, and I do, if we make it on the Pumpkin Express Train, we will be there all day.  But hurry and buy your tickets soon.  This is a sell out event!

Each day of the Pumpkin Express the  departure times are 9:30, 10:30, 11:30 AM & 1:00, 2:00 PM.  On Friday, drive right to the depot to park your vehicle.  On Saturday and Sunday, please park in the Osceola High School parking lot (1114 Oak Ridge Dr.).  You will be transported from the the high school to the depot in a 1950s classic bus.  And your kids will love it! They may choose to ride the bus over and over again (ask me how I know!).

Once you arrive at the festival grounds in Dresser, you will be able to exit the train and play:  Pump car rides, wagon rides, games, face painting, and the haunted depot.  Food is available for purchase as well.

The last train to bring you back will be around 4:30 pm.  You don’t have to take the same train you arrived in.  Like I said, you can make this as lengthy or as quick as you like.

Now, I know you are asking how much the Pumpkin Express Train could set you back.  It’s not an inexpensive excursion.  This is definitely one of the pricier ones we will feature, but its uniqueness makes it worth mentioning.  Tickets are as follows  Adults $20, Seniors $20 (62 and older), Children $12 (ages 5-15), Children 4 and under $5.

Tips from the MTM Website

  • Register EARLY!.
  • All kids get a free pumpkin (ages 15 and younger).  You wouldn’t need to go to a pumpkin patch if you didn’t want to.
  • Dress for outdoor weather as event will be held rain or shine!  (This is a perfect time wear your costume!)
  • Make reservations for pumpkin trains by 8:00 the day before your ride.

You can purchase your tickets here.  They except Visa, MasterCare, AMEX, and Discover.  Tickets are non-refundable.

If you want a truly unique Halloween/Fall Experience, give the Pumpkin Express Train a try.  I don’t think you will be disappointed.
