A Share from my Inbox.  St. Louis Park is offering some free art-making opportunities this summer.  Check them out here:

Amazing FREE art-making opportunities this summer:
“Our Town” begins!
“Our Town” is FotA’s city-wide art-making extravaganza
that happens every two years. This year’s theme: Art + Nature

Open Call for SLP Visual Artists!
Submit  your work for the major, juried art exhibit to be held at the Shops At West End, October 10-11. The Our Town juried exhibit will be a major cultural event for the City of SLP in 2014, and FotA is thrilled to fulfill its mission of supporting, promoting, and enhancing the arts in St. Louis Park in this way.

Be one of the 100 creators of the giant community mosaic!

The vision is immense and beautiful: under the guidance of professional mosaic artist and SLP resident, Connie Cohen, 100 people (or more!) will collaborate to create a glass mosaic that will be ultimately installed in the giant space at the ICON movie theatre at West End. The piece will be a major public art piece for St. Louis Park, seen by tens of thousands of people each year.

Make art in Nature!

What finer way to celebrate “Art + Nature” than to make art in nature? In partnership with Westwood HIlls Nature Center, we offer these two fun and free outdoor art-making experiences.

Besides Family Fun Twin Cities, I spend my 9 to 5 at a day job pursuing my weird passion for calendars and organizing things as a legal secretary. When I get home I spend my time with my four kids, 10, 6, 4 and 1. My amazing husband is both a full-time musician and full-time stay-at-home dad. Together we run a small radio empire — SiaNet Radio — playing, promoting and enjoying the wide variety of local music and art in the Twin Cities. I juggle all this while writing about exploring the Twin Cities with kids. I couldn’t be happier.
