This tour is a free and self-guided exploration of 29 local farms. We are warned that GPS is spotty in rural areas, so this could be a good time to work on map skills. Plan a route together before you leave, print a map and let the kids navigate. See the Google Map at the bottom of this page.

Below is the list of participating farms. The tour is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday July 16th. These are working farms and sometimes peoples’ homes, so we are asked to be respectful and only visit during tour times. If you can’t make it this weekend, check their websites. Some of them have open hours.

Besides Family Fun Twin Cities, I spend my 9 to 5 at a day job pursuing my weird passion for calendars and organizing things as a legal secretary. When I get home I spend my time with my four kids, 10, 6, 4 and 1. My amazing husband is both a full-time musician and full-time stay-at-home dad. Together we run a small radio empire — SiaNet Radio — playing, promoting and enjoying the wide variety of local music and art in the Twin Cities. I juggle all this while writing about exploring the Twin Cities with kids. I couldn’t be happier.
