Luxton Park has family-friendly amenities that include a playground and tot lot with new equipment, a wading pool, walking paths and a picnic area with a grill, drinking fountain and nearby restroom facilities. This park also has a public bike pump.

Luxton Park Recreation Center

The air-conditioned Recreation Center offers drop in Board Games, Computer Lab, Foosball and Ping Pong. Families can find a variety of activities, events and classes by checking the seasonal activity guide. Community rooms include a gym, a community kitchen, a computer lab, a craft room, a meeting room and a multi-purpose room.

Birthday Parties in the Rec Center

MPRB rents out rooms in the recreation center for birthday parties and other private events. Find more information, permit requirements and special use fees at the park’s website. Contact: Steve Zimmer; luxton@minneapolisparks.org.

Summer Meals Program

Luxton Park has participated in the summer meals program, offering free lunch to kids and teens. Dates and times can vary from year to year. See MPRB’s Summer Meals page for up-to-date information.

Luxton Park Wading Pool

The wading pool is open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day between 10:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. except when the temperature is over 85 at 6:00 p.m. when it remains open until 10:00 p.m. There is no lifeguard on duty. Find our complete listing of Minneapolis wading pools HERE.

Luxton Park Book Exchange

Luxton has a community run book exchange in its recreation center. Volunteers have worked hard to make it the cities best book exchange. Drop in Monday through Thursday between 3 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. to find a book, leave a book or just sit and read a book.
