Sticking close to home with your crew this Spring Break? (Same here. Hence my research.) Craft a fun staycation in the Twin Cities with the following ideas:

Spring Break in March?

3/21: Tropics Waterpark & Tropical Adventure Indoor Playground @ Shoreview Community Center, 4580 Victoria St. N, Shoreview • special Spring Break waterpark hours can be found here • day pass: $9.99/non-res adults, $9/ages 1-17, $36/family • Details: Pretend you’re on vacation in the tropics! I love this site! I didn't know about most of these Waterparks!

3/22: Kids Club: Spring Edition Crafts @ select Twin Cities Michaels locations • 30-minute sessions, 10am-noon • $2 per project • Details: Select Michaels locations are hosting weekday Kids Club crafts for kids ages 3+ in addition to their regularly-scheduled Saturday morning crafts. heartfelt 33/23: Preschool Bunny Festival @ Heartfelt, 4306 Upton Ave, Minneapolis • 10:30-11:45am • $18 for the first child/adult pair, each additional child $10 or $3 for snacks only • Details: Meet a live bunny, craft, and other activities 3/23 & 3/24. Advance registration required at 612-877-8090.

3/24: Eggstravaganza @ Eastman Nature Center, 13351 Elm Creek Rd, Dayton • 10am-2pm • $5/pp • Details: Play games, see live bunnies, and get egg-citing treats. Bring hard-boiled eggs to dye naturally. Search for eggs, go on a scavenger hunt, and meet a giant rabbit. Get your face painted with a bunny nose and whiskers. Last admittance at 1pm.

3/25: Spring Into Farming @ Gale Woods Farm, 7210 Cty Rd 110 W, Minnetrista • 9:30am-2:30pm • $6/pp • Details: Celebrate new life on the farm through crafts, cooking and games. Meet farm animals and participate in educator-led programs. Activities are geared toward preschoolers and kindergartners.

3/26 & 27: 2016 Twin Cities Easter Egg Hunts & Activities – We’ve rounded up 16 egg hunts and other Easter activities taking place this weekend. Consult our list for details.

3/28: School Release Day: Spring Break Fun with Minneapolis Park & Rec • Details: All Minneapolis Recreation Centers open at noon 3/28-4/1, 2016. FREE activities at Bottineau Recreaction Center (2000 2nd St NE, Minneapolis) include basketball tournaments, arts and crafts, dodgeball, movie time and more. Windom Park (2251 Hayes St NE, Minneapolis) will host an open gym with bounce house from 1-5pm.

3/29: FREE & Cheap movies –  FREE Spring Break movies at Paragon Odyssey 15 (14401 Burnhaven Dr, Burnsville), Plaza Maplewood hosts $1 Tuesdays, daily $2 matinee movies at Riverview Theater in Minneapolis, daily $2.50 matinees at Hopkins Cinema 6.

tm wee wednesdays3/30: Wee Wednesday @ Midtown Global Market, 920 E Lake St, Minneapolis • Ongoing Wednesdays, 10:30am-1pm • FREE! • Details: Entertainment geared towards the 1-5 crowd takes place weekly – cook, dance, explore puppet theater, live animals and more. Stay for lunch specials, an indoor play space and free parking with vendor validation.

3/31: City of Burnsville’s Spring Break Beach Party @ Nicollet Junior High School, 400 E. 134th St, Burnsville • 1-4pm • $5/child, caregivers FREE • Details: Games, open gym, arts and crafts, snacks and entertainment by Bob the Beachcomber. Registration deadline is 3/28/16.

Spring Break in April?

4/1: Mary Hall Show for Pipsqueeks @ Central Park, 8595 Central Park Place, Woodbury • 11am • FREE! • Details: Family-friendly and free entertainment is performed select dates at Central Park Amphitheater. Stay to explore the Play & Learn space at the Washington County Library branch and Lookout Ridge Indoor Playground.

4/2: Walker First Free Saturday: Visual World @ Walker Art Center, 1750 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis • 10am-3pm • FREE! • Details: Activities are geared towards kids ages 6-12, but don’t let that stop you from bringing your littler ones! Free gallery admission for the whole family every first Saturday of the month.

4/3: Free Family Fun Days: Raptors in the Yard @ Richardson Nature Center, 8737 E Bush Lake Rd, Bloomington  • 3-4pm Details: Drop in for hands-on activities for all ages.

4/4: Macy’s Flower Show @ Minneapolis Macy’s @ Downtown Minneapolis Macy’s, 8th Floor Auditorium, 700 On The Mall, Minneapolis • Open daily during store hours 3/20 through 4/3, 2016 • Details: A colorful trip across our country’s landscapes; kids will enjoy the flower displays.

4/5: Story Time with Engineer Paul @ Choo Choo Bob’s Train Store, 2050 Marshall Avenue, St. PaulOngoing Tuesdays, 10am • FREE! • Details: Stories, songs and preschool activities with a (no surprise) train slant. Jackson Street Roundhouse4/6: Tots and Trains @ Jackson Street Roundhouse, 193 Pennsylvania Ave E, St Paul • 10am-noon • adults/$10, kids ages 5-15 & seniors/$8, ages 2-4/$5 • Details: Play with train tables and new display additions, create a craft to take home, and listen to train-themed story time. Caregivers can enjoy coffee and treats as well.
